When I bought this canner, it came with Adobe Photoshop Elements (a very useful, lite version of Photoshop) and ABBY OCR software (which I haven't used I've always used Adobe Acrobat for OCR). br>br>The Epson scanner comes with some decent scanning and complementary software that allows for default settings as well as a professional mode where settings can be fine-tuned for better individual results. Of course, using a professional service or a specialized scanner designed for sides may be a better way to convert slides to digital files. I've scanned a few color slides with this scanner, and the results are mixed, but nothing will ever look as good as the old Kodachrome slides, so more editing is required to get something acceptable than with printed photo scans.
